The Extreme is a free standing aluminum pole tent, with a configuration that is extremely strong and sturdy. The 3-pole design gives you more “framework” to combat Mother Nature when she decides to send you a little stronger storm than normal. Assembly is easy with pole clips that quickly snap over the tent poles. The polyester fly and floor are urethane coated, with factory sealed seams for maximum weatherproofness. A door on each side of the tent makes getting in and out of the tent easy. You also get two large vestibules that you can use for extra gear storage. The vestibules also serve as automatic guy-out points when the weather gets a little nasty. The fly buckles to the tent, offering a much more secure attachment when compared to elastic cord. Extra large #8 zippers on the doors and vestibules add to the durability. Mesh roof vents increase ventilation and improve star gazing. Materials: Fly: 75D, 185T, Poly Taffeta, 1500mm Multi-pass Urethane coating, Floor: 75D, 185T, Poly Taffeta, 3000mm Multi-pass Urethane coating, Walls: 75D, 185T, Poly Taffeta, Mesh: Nylon No See-um Mesh, 40D, Frame: 8.5mm 7000-series aluminum. Epic!! Finally an affordable tent that exceeds its quality to cost ratio. I’m a firm believer in “you pay for what you get”. Granted there are deals that can be had out there. And this is one of them. I purchased this tent to replace my aging heavy “dome” tent. I was planning a 40 mile hike around Mt. Hood…and wanted a smaller light weight tent that would comfortably protect my wife and I from the elements (just in case). So first it showed up a day early which was nice due tot…

Great tent I bought this tent for back pack camping on scouting trips. The tent rolls into a relatively small bundle and fits quite nicely in my back pack. The carry weight is not bad and about as light as I’d go. (I’m not a big fan of the super lights, not rugged enough). I lead 21 boys to a week long summer camp last summer and used the trip as a shake down cruise for the new tent (don’t want to find problems 15 miles into the wilderness). I packed for a back packing trip and walked to the campsite…

Alps Extreme to the fullist I set up this tent at my house front yard along with a Mountainsmith Morrison 2. Let me just say the Morrison 2 is much lighter, but does not provide any good vestibule space nor it would do good in high winds. However, I believe in the rain it would be fine and it also has enough room for two since it has a rectangular shape.
