Only for those with extreme size concerns. 4Dec15 Edit: Since the Session came out the price has been cut in half. At $200 it is no longer competing with the HERO4 Silver, and is a much better value. That said, I still recommend a full sized GoPro for the changeable battery and ability to change the settings without a phone.BOTTOM LINE: If you don’t need the absolute smallest camera possible, get one of the larger GoPros. They are all great, but the lack of any screen will make it slower to use than the other models. If you have used a GoPro before you should have a pretty good idea if a super small GoPro is for you. If you need the decreased size, go for it. This is still a great camera, and the 4K functions (which this model lacks) aren’t terribly useful anyways. However if you are new to GoPro, take a moment to decide if you really need a camera this small, because the regular GoPros are small as it is. The GoPro app is free and very functional, but with only a little bit of practice you can use the…

Half The Size Same Great Quality! Prefect for Mountain bikers! INTRO:I purchased a Gopro Hero 4 Session from a local sporting store as soon as it opened this morning (I just couldn’t wait). I have owned three Gopros, the first Gopro hero, the Gopro hero4 silver and the Gopro hero 4 session. For this review I will do a short comparison and talk about the Gopro Hero4 silver and Gopro session because these two cameras are both $399, which at first glance seems a little strange because the silver offer so many more features. For less reading you can also jump down to the bottom for my final thoughts or conclusion.COMPARISON:(For the point of comparison I am listing only the features that one camera has and doesn’t share with the other)Gopro Hero 4 Silver Features:-Touch screen display-4k resolution (yes only at 15 fps)-Many more premium video settings-Easy settings navigation and quick changing.-Familiar User interface and button orientation.Gopro Hero 4…

Form vs. Function I’ll preface this review by saying that the Session is a great concept and that it definitely has potential. That being said, it has a few serious problems. At a quick glance, here are the pros and cons.Pros:-Small, light, easily mountable-Always-on waterproof housing-One button start/stopCons:-Same price as Hero 4 Silver-Poorer image quality-Internal battery means when the Session is dead, drop what you’re doing and recharge-Microphones slightly muffled-Cannot shoot 4K, or even 2.7K-In order to change settings, you must do so from your phone (or wifi remote if you have one)-Unlike traditional Hero 4 lineup, if the Session is damaged it’s waterproof abilities are compromised, and parts are not replaceableWhile I love the form factor and light weight aspects of the Session, when you can get GoPro’s higher end camera for the same price – you’re sacrificing function for form…
